Brandon bank robbed

BRANDON -- An armed man dressed all in black and wearing sunglasses and a face mask robbed the BB&T Bank on Oakfield Drive this morning.

The bank alarm went off about 9:40 a.m. Deputies arrived on the scene, but the robber had fled.

He was reportedly carrying a gun and a bag and ran to the north of the bank, which is at Noland Drive near Brandon Regional Hospital.

Deputies on the ground and in a sheriff's helicopter are searching for the robber.
