Tampa: Boy, 15, jailed on sex charges

TAMPA -- A 15-year-old boy is in jail on felony charges of lewd and lascivious molestation, sexual battery on a victim younger than 12 and incest.

Because of the nature of the crimes, the Times is not naming the suspect. Hillsborough County schools spokeswoman Linda Cobbe confirmed that the boy is an 11th-grade student at Middleton High School.

Details of the arrest are unclear, but Tampa Police Cpl. Jared Douds said the investigation into the
teen was launched Oct. 18.

The boy was booked into the Orient Road Jail on Wednesday. Bail was not set.
