Two dead after Largo crash

Largo police are investigating a double vehicle crash late Saturday night that left two dead.

Authorities say Jennifer Jean Jones, 28, was driving a 1997 Jeep Wrangler south on the 1700 block of Keene Road when the vehicle hit the curb on the west side of the road, causing it to bounce back into the northbound lanes of Keene Road.

A 2003 Lincoln town car driven by Gerald Legare Heatley, 80, was traveling northbound and struck the Jeep. Jones died at the scene. Heatley was taken to Bayfront Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the crash, which occured shortly before 11:30 p.m.
