Body found in apartment complex pond

TAMPA -- A body was discovered in a pond at The Mallory Apartments in northwest Tampa Sunday morning, Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies, a dive team and crime scene unit responded to the apartment complex pond, which is at 11525 Casa Marina Way, after a call came in around 9:50 a.m. The body of a black male was pulled from the water and he has not yet been identified, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

The Sheriff's office is awaiting the results of an autopsy from the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.
