Truck accident closes exit ramp near TIA

TAMPA -- A tractor-trailer accident has forced the closure of the Tampa International Airport exit ramp connecting to westbound SR-60, state Department of Transportation officials said.

Traffic has been detoured onto eastbound Spruce Street. DOT officials say motorists can make a U-turn at the O'Brien Street traffic signal, then use the westbound Spruce ramp to get back onto westbound SR-60.

DOT officials remain at the scene and estimate the ramp may be closed until around 3 p.m.
