Two Tampa fire marshals under investigation

During a press conference Friday afternoon, Tampa Fire Chief Dennis W. Jones announced that Inspector Manuel Perrone, 44, and Senior Inspector Toy Pelaez, 47, are under investigation and will be interviewed Monday to discuss allegations that they accepted gifts in violation of city policy. Union leader Larry Parker said he spoke with Palaez and said, "he's not doing real well." Parker said he had reviewed the allegations and called them "minor and nitpicky violations."
