Man accused in April shooting at Boyett's Grove

Montgomery BROOKSVILLE -- The alleged gunman in the April robbery and shooting of the owner of a Hernando County tourist attraction has been identified, and warrants have been issued for his arrest, sheriff's officials said.

Elijah Jermaine Montgomery, left, 23, of Orlando is behind bars on unrelated charges in the Orange County Jail. Two other suspects in the shooting of Jim Oleson have not been identified.

"This case still isn't over with," Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Donna Black said this morning. "And we still can't rest. The investigation continues and will continue until all those responsible for this crime are behind bars."

Montgomery and two accomplices burst into the Boyett's Grove and Citrus Attraction on Spring Lake Highway on April 25, according to the Sheriff's Office. The men allegedly grabbed Oleson's wife, Kathy, by the hair and dragged her around the store at gunpoint, authorities say.

When the assailants made their way to the back of the store, Montgomery stumbled upon Oleson and shot him in the chest, authorities said. Montgomery and the men fled after taking some money from the store, authorities said. Oleson was seriously injured but recovered.

Montgomery was identified as a suspect in the shooting after he was arrested in Orlando in June. Officers  identified a shell casing from a gun discarded by Montgomery during a chase, and the Olesons later picked him out of a lineup in December, authorities said.
