Marino's changing to Grille 121 at BayWalk

ST. PETERSBURG -- Dan Marino's restaurant BayWalk is morphing into Grille 121.

The change is mostly in name only -- the menu and staff will remain, and the decor will change only slightly.

Mike Carcaise has been part of Fort Myers-based LTP Management for 17 years but has decided to leave the company and take the BayWalk space with him.

The Fort Lauderdale resident says he will make St. Petersburg his new home. "I think St. Petersburg has a tremendous upside to it," Carcaise said. "This coast is a little more calm. It enticed me."

Carcaise said the Marino's sign will come down at the end of this month, and the restaurant will convert to the new Grille 121. But it will remain open through the transition.

Other than removing Dan Marino's football memorabilia, the restaurant and adjoining Martini Bar will change only in subtle ways.

The change leaves three Dan Marino's restaurants -- in Miami, Orlando and Las Vegas.

is this already done? when will the new place be official?

so glad to hear this. just hope the food improves. was there recently and was disappointed in the over priced menu for what was actually offered. hope they change it up a little too with food and pricing.

Oh it's at Baywalk? Sorry, I won't step foot in that part of town. The "locals" have ruined it.

We ate at Marino's last weekend, then went to a movie at Bay Walk. No problems.

That is disappointing. I always look forward to eating a Dan Marino's when we vacation in Florida. It will be sadly missed.

You must have went to dinner/movie during the day at Baywalk...last time i was there at night for dinner/movie two people got shot...I will not be going back

Hoof Hearted?

I am curious if the new Owner has his signage taken care of? If not... I would be happy to provide him a proposal.
