Pasco woman dies, child injured in car crash

TAMPA -- A two-car crash Thursday killed a Pasco woman and injured two others, including a 1-year-old infant, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened at Fountain Avenue and Sheldon Road at 2:36 p.m., when a Nissan headed west on Fountain tried to turn onto Sheldon and drove into the path of a Chevy.

The crash killed Nissan driver Caressa C. Gordon, 26, of 7221 Brentwood Drive in Port Richey and injured her passenger Marjory E. Devlin, 20, of 7508 Stillridge Drive, Apt. C, in Tampa, deputies say. The impact of the crash threw Devlin's child, Isaiah Casanova, from the vehicle, deputies say. Devlin and her son were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Gordon was airlifted to St. Joseph’s, where she was pronounced dead.

The other driver, Yorgan Lopez Perez, 26, of 206 Pasadena Drive in Tampa was not taken to the hospital.
