Two men sentenced in drug gang case

TAMPA -- Distributing drugs to a minor and distribution of cocaine earned two "Kuntry Boyz'' gang members 57 months each in prison, the U.S. Attorney Middle District of Florida said Wednesday.

Donte McPherson, 21, was sentenced Wednesday for distribution of crack cocaine to a minor. McPherson pleaded guilty Oct. 10.

On Tuesday, Darius Hurns, 23, was sentenced on one count of distribution of cocaine. Hurns pleaded guilty to distribution of cocaine Oct. 3.

Authorities said they rounded up the 58 gang members in June. Thus far, of the 12 "Kuntry Bozy'' indicted on federal drug charges, eight have been convicted and sentenced to federal prison.

Another gang member will be sentenced Feb. 11. Three cases are still pending.
