One injured in Riverview crash

Big Bend Road in Riverview was closed briefly this afternoon after one person was injured in a single-car crash.

Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies said the car was headed west on Big Bend Road just before the I-75 overpass when the driver crossed the median, hit a concrete pole on the other side of the road, then spun around and landed at the bottom of a steep embankment.

The victim's name was not available. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
