Thieves steal urns with human remains

ST. PETERSBURG -- Police are investigating a burglary at the Royal Palm Cemetery in which thieves broke into a mausoleum, smashed two glass compartments and stole two urns that held cremated human remains.

The manager of the cemetery, at 101 33th St. S, notified the families of the deceased.

Police say the burglars vandalized the outside of the building, taking two bronze plaques and metal flower containers from an outside wall.

I don't know who I feel more sad over...the family for their loss or the thieves for being that desperate?

how can someone, probably kids desecrate a cemetery?? I guess surveillance cameras will be the next thing.

Just disgusting...my heart goes out to the families, and I hope they catch those who did this!

We need a law and order Mayor! Clean up the city!
