TV tips lead police to suspected rapist
TAMPA -- In the early hours of Sunday morning, Tampa police and U.S. marshals arrested a man wanted in connection with the brutal rape of a Maryland woman seven years ago.
Two tips were called in to America's Most Wanted just a day after the show aired a segment about Jacob Corey Gordon, 28. The information lead lead law enforcement officials to the Tampa Bay area, where Gordon was believed to be living. Around 2 a.m., Tampa police and U.S. marshals arrested Gordon at his apartment on Two Lakes Road in Tampa.
In 2001, according to Maryland state police, Gordon and another man drove a young woman out to a wooded location and sexually assaulted her for nearly three hours before dumping her in a field.
