City manager to stay in Tarpon Springs

TARPON SPRINGS - City Manager Ellen Posivach is staying put.

The City Commission of Goodyear, Ariz., decided today to offer the city manager position to John F. Fischbach of Port Townsend, Wash., according to a statement released by Goodyear spokeswoman Nora Fascenelli.

Posivach was named a finalist for the job earlier this month, along with Fischbach and Philip L. Nelson, of Troy, Mich.

Tarpon Springs' city manager since 1999, Posivach has won several national awards and makes $122,910 annually. The Goodyear position will pay $168,000 a year.

Fischbach has more than 30 years of experience, serving most recently as the county administrator for Jefferson County, Wash., and stints as a city manager in four different cities.
