TAMPA --- Hillsborough County commissioners today paid tribute to fallen Army Maj. David G. Taylor Jr.

They placed his name on a memorial to service members who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan with connections to Hillsborough County. Taylor's wife, who was born in Tampa, was on hand for the ceremony along with her parents, brother and son.

"I'm so grateful to this community for remembering him. I'm so grateful to have a place I can remember him," said Michelle Taylor. "I'm so glad I have a place to go and be with him now especially with Dave being buried up in North Carolina it's nice to have a physical place to go, and feel closer to him.''

The family was featured in the St. Petersburg Times last may in "A Story for Jake" by John Romano.
