Pedestrian killed in Largo crash

LARGO -- A pedestrian died after being hit by an SUV Friday night.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was crossing Missouri Avenue from Wal-Mart, at 1111 Missouri Ave N, to K-Mart about 8:30 p.m. when a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe struck him.

Rob B. Conner, 25 of 615 Evergreen Ave in Clearwater, was driving the Santa Fe, according to Largo Police investigators. They did not indicate whether he was at fault.

The pedestrian was taken to Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg and pronounced dead shortly after 9 p.m.
