Longtime Pinellas Commissioner Bob Stewart won't run again
Pinellas County Commissioner Bob Stewart said today he will not seek re-election.
Stewart, a veteran Pinellas politico who served on the St. Petersburg City Council before being elected to the commission in 1994, said he anguished over the decision for months.
"I will enormously miss the life of an elected official," said Stewart, 70. "I have been blessed and honored."
Stewart, the commission's current chairman, said he plans to spend more time in Colorado, where his three sons and grandchildren live.
Expect Pinellas School Board member Nancy Bostock, a Republican, to soon enter the race. Former state Sen. Jim Sebesta, a Republican, and Darden Rice, a Democrat, also have expressed interest in the countywide seat.

I bet!! It seems that when the money is gone and you've been over paid to perform...you better run to another state! Thanks for the high taxes, low land values,an over-crowded downtown, broken policies, a bankrupt city and the legacy of being in city govenment with a child molester who took the cowards way out! Stay gone...and tell your buddies NOT to apply for the job!!

Well, it shows in your comments just how educated and how much
you follow the political venues. Bob Stewart has been a County Commissoner and a good one at that for the last 12+ years. So Dr. Dug and
Saint Petersburg Voter get your facts straight. Thank goodness neither of you are running for a public office!
