Lunsford-Dawsy meeting a no-go
INVERNESS -- Citrus County Sheriff Jeff Dawsy will not meet with Mark Lunsford today, as proposed by Lunsford's attorneys to resolve a dispute about a potential lawsuit.
Sheriff's Office attorney Richard Wesch sent a letter to Lunsford's attorney Eric Block on Thursday declining the offer.
Similarly, Lunsford will not agree to a meeting on Dawsy's terms. The sheriff offered to meet with Lunsford if he first dropped the threat of a lawsuit against the agency. Further negotiations appear to be at an impasse for the moment.

Kudos to the Sheriff...let that dirtbag twist in the wind with his equally incompetent counsel. They have yet to show a cause of action...ergo, one that would result in any type of monetary settlement in their favor. Make no mistake, this is about MONEY; they can't sue to change policy. They know it, the Sheriff knows it...and once this issue is summarily discussed in the media over the next year, there won't be a jury pool that doesn't know it. Go on back to hauling rock snaggletooth, your 15 minutes of fame has come to an end.

Mark Lundsford is a true snake. There is nothing else one can say about how he is attempting to capitalize on his daughters tragic death. Go back to your nightly drinking binges at the local redneck pub!

My bet is the sheriff has done - and would do anything.. to stop this from ever happining again. All Mr. Lunsford needed to do was ask. this is about his need for money - he just didnt understand how bad this was going to be. It looks like he's going for broke.
The up side is Bubba's back.... monday will be ON FIRE.

True that, Dave, but let's see if we can keep a certain radio personality out of the comments for a bit. Not because I don't like this radio guy, but because maybe FINALLY people will see Lunsford for who he really is.
Fact: Jessie's ride in the first year gathered over 5000 people.
Fact: This year, there were 300 participants, TOPS.
Lunsford is running out of gas. I wouldn't wish his tragedy on any one, but his actions are showing the world that he's simply in it for the money.
It's a shame, really.

Mr. Lunsford - Hindsight is 20/20. How dare you come back after everything that has been done for you and accuse the very people who helped you! Your greed and need is doing nothing but hurting the cause.
Sheriff - Please do not cave in to this kind of bullying.

Damien, the radio personality brought to light the shadiness of Mark Lunsford. It's a shame and a disgrace to his daughter what he is doing now.

What a POS! I don't know which one is worse, Lundsford or his attorney. Stick to your guns Sheriff Dawsey. You have the full support of the community behind you.
Maybe Lundsford should sue the girl he was out drinking with the night Jesse disapeared too. Oh yeah, and the bar, and the bar owner, and maybe Budweiser too?

Well, looks like mr McGreedy got his meeting. For shame Sheriff Dawsy for caving in to this P.O.S. The sheriff should not have to make deals with crackheads--did we promise not to investigate the State's Attorney's findings of child porn on his computer? or to look the other way when we are riding our bike drunk and high? or to ignore another woman's claim of stalking and harassment? And why did you not meet (if you JUST HAD to)at your office? You do have one, maintained by the tax-payers don't you? And it wasn't HIS home you met in---it was his parent's--you know, the one's who were raising little Jessica? the one's who have to live across the street and see where she was buried alive every day? Everyone knows why the lawsuit was called off; the donations had dwindled to a screeching halt. Don't insult our intelligence with talks of "clarifying a few questions" I hope his lawyers sock it to him. Dirtbag
