Man arrested in South Tampa home invasion

Larmon TAMPA -- Police have arrested a 19-year-old man, accusing him of a home invasion robbery this morning in South Tampa.

Police say Matthew Larmon knocked on the door of a home at 4401 W Anita Blvd. just after midnight this morning. When a woman answered, Larson grabbed her and threatened her with what appeared to be a gun, police say. The gun was actually a plastic BB gun.

Larmon then took money, jewelry and prescription drugs from the home, police say. The woman slipped out a side door and called police.

Larmon tried to steal the woman's car from her driveway, but he failed, police say.

Officers found Larmon about a block from the woman's home, armed with a pistol. He carried the woman's stolen property, police say.

Larmon face charges of home invasion robbery of more than $300, theft from a person 65 years or older, armed burglary of a conveyance, grand theft of a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon, giving a false name to law enforcement and violating probation, jail records show. He was held without bail.

She was 65 or older, and answered a knock at the door around midnight. Something seems odd about that....

IF YOUR NOT EXPECTING ANYONE ASK FOR PHOTO ID AND VERIFY by calling company representative or authorities UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE ALOT OF IMPOSTERS INCLUDING PHONEY COUNTY EMPLOYEES AND BOGUS POLICE PERSONNEL. HAVING A LICENSED WEAPON AND BEING TRAINED IN ITS USE IS THE BEST DEFENSE.

So Dave, does this mean you are volunteering to be this perps defense lawyer?

Interesting how a 19 year-old can be considered a man.
