One dead in motorcycle accident

DOVER -- A man was killed Friday evening when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a utility trailer being pulled by a pickup truck at McIntosh and Tom Gallagher Road.

The 1994 Dodge pickup truck, driven by Christopher West, 50, was reportedly traveling southbound on McIntosh around 5 p.m. Friday, when it slowed and began a left turn. As it crossed lanes of oncoming traffic, a 2002 Harley Davidson driven northbound by Jimmy McIntosh, 38. West was not injured. McIntosh was taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital, where he died.

West was cited for a violation of right of way in the incident. A Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office investigation is under way. Watch This Just In for more information as it becomes available.
