Police: Man stole from grandmother

ST. PETERSBURG - A 33 year-old man was arrested early today and accused of stealing more than $20,000 from his elderly grandmother, who has Alzheimer’s disease, police said.

Sean Christopher Fannin, of 443 Fourth Avenue N, unit 323, faces one count of exploitation of the elderly for taking advantage of 87 year-old Cleora Fannin. Police say he used her name to obtain credit cards, cashed in stocks and forged her signature on checks.

Police arrested Fannin after his father, Dennis, Cleora’s son, became suspicious and contacted authorities.
