Robbery suspect escapes from Palm Beach jail

LafalaiseLaw enforcement officers in Palm Beach County are searching for a suspect in a Pinellas County robbery after he escaped from jail.

Jean Davide LaFalaise, 26, (left), was one of three men arrested in January 2007 after an armed robbery at Johnston's Jewelers in Seminole. He was released on bail but failed to show up in court. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

LaFalaise, of 525 SW Eighth St. in Belle Glade, was being held in the Palm Beach County Jail - West Detention Center at 38840 State Road 80 in Belle Glade on unrelated charges.

Palm Beach officials learned of the escape about 4 p.m. Wednesday. Detectives say he has connections in the Tampa Bay area.

Law enforcement asks anyone with information to call Detective Jeremy Nygren of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Robbery/Homicide Unit at (727) 582-6200, or to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers
at 1-800-873-8477.

Sounds as if LaFalaise needs to stop being so slippery. Perhaps he should slither into St. Petersburg around 1300 First Avenue North. Maybe, just maybe they have a little cold iron that can keep him still. Shame on you, you hooligan.
