Police: Man shoots, kills brother outside Coquina Key home

Jerrydaniels ST. PETERSBURG -- An argument about money ended with one man dead and his brother behind bars and facing a second-degree murder charge late Wednesday, police said.

Jerry Lee Daniels, 35, left, was arrested in connection with the shooting death of his brother Perry Lee Daniels, 38. Police said the two had been fighting about money when Jerry got a handgun and shot Perry once in the side.

Emergency officials arrived to the Daniels home, 4285 Trout Drive SE in Coquina Key, about 10:50 p.m. and found Perry in the driveway. He later died at Bayfront Medical Center.

Police said Jerry Daniels later confessed to the shooting during questioning. Jail records show he was charged with second-degree murder.

A neighbor told police that five brothers live at the house.
