Tampa man stabbed by girlfriend's son

TAMPA -- A Tampa man was taken to the hospital today after his girlfriend's son stabbed him multiple times with a knife, police said.

Jorge Alejandro Serrano Calderon, 19, of 4603 Citrus Circle Apt. 11, was stabbed in the head, upper left chest and left torso, Tampa police said. Officers identified the stabber as Emmanuel Herrera-Rivera, 18, the son of Calderon's girlfriend, Matilda Herrera-Carrera.

Police said that about 9:30 a.m., Calderon and Herrera-Carrera were arguing over the use of a telephone. Herrera-Rivera arrived during while his mother and Calderon were arguing, and the dispute became physical police said.

Herrera-Rivera retrieved a knife and stabbed Calderon three times. Calderon was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where police said he is listed in stable condition.

Herrera-Rivera and his mother fled the scene before police arrived.
