Tampa police seeking additional victims in Hillsborough teacher sex scandal

TAMPA -- Tampa police are seeking additional victims in the most recent Hillsborough school district teacher sex case.

A 45-year-old Freedom High School english teacher, Mary Jo Spack, was arrested Thursday, accused of having sex with a 17-year-old boy.

"We don't have evidence that there's another victim, we're just making a plea that if there are other victims that they should come forward," said Tampa police spokeswoman Andrea Davis.

Police say Spack met two male students at a liquor store last Friday then took them to a Tampa motel, where she had sex with one of them in the shower as four other students overheard in the next room.

A review of Spack's personnel file showed glowing reviews and letters of commendation.

Earlier today, a different police official indicated there were other victims, but couldn't provide details. Davis said he was wrong.
