Woman arrested on DUI charge with kids in car
HUDSON -- About 11:15 Wednesday night, a Pasco County sheriff’s deputy found Alexis Lanham slumped over inside her Nissan Maxima, which was parked at a gas station on U.S. 19.
Two children, ages 4 and 7, were crawling around in the back seat.
When the deputy woke up Lanham, 26, her eyes were glassy and she slurred her speech. She said she hadn’t had anything to drink but had taken Valium hours earlier. She registered zero on a Breathalyzer, her arrest report says, but failed field sobriety tests.
Lanham, of 4827 Manor Drive in New Port Richey, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and child neglect. She remained in the Pasco County jail in Land O’Lakes on Thursday in lieu of $5,250 bail.
