High school burglars arrested

Durant High School in Plant City had some unwanted visitors this morning: two people entered the school at about 3:15 a.m., smashed vending machines and vandalized student lockers, according to a report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Two teenagers were charged with burglary and felony criminal mischief.

The suspects are Riley James Reynolds, 18, of 809 Jerry Smith Rd. in Plant City and Anastasios Mastorides, 17, of 2814 Laurel Leaf Dr. in Valrico.

Deputies say the suspects entered the school through an unlocked window. They allegedly damaged four vending machines and took $139.

The suspects also are accused of vandalzing 25 lockers.

Damage totaled $3,500, according sheriff's reports.

Riley was being held at the Orient Road jail. Mastorides was taken to juvenile detention.
