I-4 accident closes some westbound lanes

SEFFNER -- Westbound lanes on Interstate 4 between County Road 579 and Interstate 75 were closed just after 10 a.m. when an accident involving a pick-up truck and a Hummer blocked lanes, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Florida Highway Patrol reported to the scene and worked on extricating people from their cars. It was cleared up by the afternoon.

According to the highway patrol, this is what happened:

A pick-up truck and a Hummer were traveling west on I-4, just west of County Road 579 in Seffner when Sabrina N. Pacini lost control of her truck and drove into the grass median. Her truck spun back onto the westbound lanes of I-4 and struck the side of Terry L. Calhoun's Hummer.

Both vehicles overturned after the impact. Pacini, 25, was cited for careless driving.
