Mississippi murder suspect arrested in Tampa
A Mississippi murder suspect was captured Monday after he jumped out of a second-story window at a Tampa apartment.
Tony Markel Howard, 22, is accused of fatally shooting Lorenzo Nettles and wounding two other Moss Point, Miss., men at a club on Feb. 16, according to the Sun-Herald newspaper in Mississippi.
Tampa police spokeswoman Andrea Davis said it wasn't clear what led Howard to 6212 S Dale Mabry Highway, where it appeared he was staying with two other people.
But when Tampa police, the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement surrounded the residence about 4 p.m. today, Howard jumped from the second-story window and ran. He was arrested shortly afterward without incident.
