St. Petersburg police identify suspect in fatal shooting

Emanualmccray ST. PETERSBURG -- Homicide detectives this morning identified a suspect in the shooting death of a 26-year-old Pinellas Park man found fatally shot in front of a motel Friday.

Police said several witnesses identified Emanuel McCray, 22, (left), and later told investigators he was arguing with victim Jason McDonald outside the Inn on the Hill motel at 275 34th St. N. It is unclear what started the argument.

When authorities arrived about 5:15 a.m, they found McDonald with gunshot wounds to his upper body on the curb in front of the motel, his body lying partially in the road.

Jail records show McCray, 201 36th St. S, has previous arrests on gun and drug charges.

Police ask anyone with information to call (727) 893-7780.
