Teacher re-arrested on charge of sex with another student

TAMPA -- Former Davidsen Middle School teacher Stephanie Ragusa has been re-arrested by Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies, accused of having sex more than 20 times with yet another minor, a 15-year-old student.

Authorities have charged her with Lewd or lascivious battery and 2 counts sex with a minor.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said in a news release that on February 15, 2007 at Ragusa's home at the time, in Fox Terrier Court, she and the victim, then 15, had sex. Ragusa was was 27 at the time, and was the boy's teacher at Davidsen. 

Ragusa provided the victim with a contraceptive, Carter said. 

Last month, on March 10, the two communicated via cell phone text messages and agreed to meet again at the boy's home, Carter said. Again, they engaged in sex, and Ragusa gave the boy alcohol, she said. 

Ragusa, 29, was previoulsly arrested last month on five counts of lewd and lascivious battery in connection with another 15-year-old student.

Hired by the school district in 2006, Ragusa, of Lake Bella Vista Drive in Tampa was working at Martinez Middle as a math teacher when the charges against her were filed.

She has been suspended without pay from her teaching job.
