Day care teacher accused of using deputy's stolen credit cards
TAMPA -- Deputies accused a 39-year-old preschool teacher of using credit cards stolen from a Hillsborough deputy's patrol car, racking up charges at McDonalds, Home Depot and Wal-Mart.
Investigators arrested Michelle Marie McCray of 2212 Cayuga St., Apt. B on charges of organized fraud, fradulent use of a credit card, forgery, fradulent use of personal information and grand theft, according to the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office.
McCray was arrested Thursday at 5 p.m. at Nebraska Avenue and Wilma Street. She was held without bail on Friday at the Orient Road Jail. In jail records, she said she is a teacher at the Children with Joy day care in Tampa.
Deputies say that someone broke into Deputy Brooke Buck's patrol car sometime between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. overnight on April 21 to April 22, when the deputy responded to a call at the University Village Apartments at 11725 n 17th St.
Surveillance video shows McCray and other woman using the stolen credit cards at gas stations, McDonalds, Wal-Mart, and Home Depot.
Deputies are searching for the other woman shown in the videos.
