Suspicious death in Land O'Lakes

LAND O’LAKES –- The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 51-year-old Pasco woman who was found lying on her porch Sunday morning.

The woman, who lived at 9665 Bahia Loop in a rural part of Land O'Lakes, was apparently killed by a gunshot wound.

Neighbors said they heard shots Saturday evening and noticed the woman lying on the porch of her home . They thought nothing of it until this morning when she was still in the same place.

The Sheriff's Office received the call from neighbors at 11:22 a.m.

Authorities said they are investigating the case as a homicide.

The woman's name has not been released.

According to neighbors, the woman lived alone with a college-age daughter. She owned three horses.
