Con artist Gann gets 30 more months prison

LARGO -- A con artist who duped women into giving him money has been sentenced to another 30 months in prison.

Gann Jordan Gann, 27, was sentenced to 30 months in prison in March in Hillsborough County for conning a woman in Tampa. In that case, Gann told the woman that he was a doctor who had just bought a $2.3 million condo. He offered her $100,000 if she gave him $750 to open an account. She gave him the money.

Gann also was arrested on a similar case in Pinellas County. He was charged with grand theft for telling a female real estate agent that he was a doctor interested in buying some condos. He told her the next day that his mother had been in an accident and he needed money. She brought him to her home, where he stole $2,400 in cash, jewely and medications.

Authorities have said Gann and his twin brother, Simon, have conned many women throughout Florida and other states. They prey on single, sometimes vulnerable women. In most cases, the brothers pretend to be wealthy doctors, lawyers or investors and talk the women into giving them money.

Gann pleaded to a  grand theft charge in Pinellas Circuit Court Tuesday morning and was sentenced to an additional 30 months in prison.
