ST. PETERSBURG -- A house fire injured no one but displaced a family of 10 people this afternoon.

The house at 3850 6th Ave. N in St. Petersburg caught fire just after 4 p.m. according to Lt. Joel Granata of St. Pete Fire.

The family is originally from Bosnia, said Abi Weaver, spokeswoman for the Red Cross, which provided temporary housing and will help the family with first month's rent on a new place. The Red Cross also gave them care kits with essentials like toothbrushes and razors.

The flames damaged the front porch but the rear of the house was spared. The fire department estimated the damage at $50,000.
