"Master Drew" strikes a deal in sex slave case

Dungeon NEW PORT RICHEY -- Andrew Michael Kobak, whom authorities say dubbed himself "Master Drew" prior to last year's bust in a sex slave case, will plead out to criminal charges on Wednesday morning.

Kobak (left), 35, was arrested in 2007 after the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said he enlisted a 19-year-old bipolar and schizophrenic woman he met online to be his "sex slave." Master and slave even signed a 10-page agreement, authorities say, entitled "Master Drew's Slavery Contract."

A tip led deputies to raid Kobak's Jasmine Lake Estates home. The woman was cited for misdemeanor prostitution, authorities say, accused of performing sex acts on other men for money at Kobak's direction. But the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney's Office later determined she was actually a victim in the case and dropped the charge.

Kobak was eventually charged with 16 felony counts of deriving proceeds from prostitution and single counts of felony manufacturing of marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor count of maintaining a place of prostitution.

The State Attorney's Office would not comment today about the case or the terms of the plea bargain. Kobak's co-counsel also declined to comment. Kobak has been out on bail pending a resolution of the case.
