Motorcyclist killed on Kennedy Boulevard

TAMPA -- A motorcycle driver died early Sunday morning after losing control at the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard and Brevard Avenue near downtown Tampa, according to Tampa Police.

Police say the accident happened around 5:45 a.m. after the driver failed to navigate a curve and hit a sidewalk curb. The driver, 26-year-old Larry L. Baker of Tampa, was wearing a helmet and was thrown into a wall near the intersection.

Baker was the only person hurt in the accident. Kennedy Boulevard was closed for a period of time but is now open.
