Suspect being hunted in 2006 Pasco double slaying

WESLEY CHAPEL -- One suspect is in jail, and the search is on for a second man in connection with the 2006 double homicide of two Wesley Chapel teens in Trilby.

Lucpierrecharles_2 The man still being sought is Luc Pierre-Charles, 20, left, of 31107 Messena Road in Wesley Chapel. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Pasco detectives say Charles and Tyree Jenkins were involved in the July 28, 2006, shooting of Derek James Pieper, 17, and Raymond Alphonse Veluz, 18, which happened when the two teens were on an errand, looking to buy pot.

Deputies also said that Derek had told friends and family members he had fallen in with a bad crowd and was looking for a way out.

But he was killed before he could manage that. Derek and Raymond were found on Harris Hill Road in Trilby with numerous gunshot wounds.

On Thursday morning, some witnesses came forward with information that allowed investigator Lisa Schoneman to get an arrest warrant for Jenkins, 22, of 38701 Island Ave., in Dade City. Jenkins was picked up by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office during a traffic stop about 4 p.m. Thursday.

Jenkins is being held without bail at the Orient Road jail in Tampa.
