Man charged in armed robbery of Largo convenience store
LARGO -- Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies have made an arrest in an early morning armed robbery of a convenience store.
Deputies said Chasin Tyrone Walker, 28, went into the Circle K at 13396 Seminole Blvd. at 4 a.m. Wednesday, pulled out a handgun and demanded cash. When the store clerk, who recognized Walker as a frequent customer, couldn’t open the cash register, Walker hit her in the back of the head with the gun, deputies said.
Deputies said Walker fled on a bicycle with an undisclosed amount of cash and scratch-off lottery tickets, which were later recovered. Walker was arrested hours later when he left his home at 12840 Seminole Blvd., Lot 17, carrying a garbage bag that contained the jacket worn during the robbery, deputies said. Authorities also recovered the gun used in the hold-up.
Walker was charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery. He is being held at the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
