Pedestrian killed in Largo hit and run

Largo police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian as he was trying to cross Walsingham Road, just west of the intersection with Indian Rocks Road, about 9:53 p.m.

Robert Alan Williams, 48, had just crossed the westbound lanes and the median and was hit while crossing the eastbound lanes. Williams was taken to Bayfront Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the vehicle, which fled the scene, is a blue or black SUV or pickup. It may have silver trim and front-end damage.

Anyone with information should call Largo Police at (727) 587-6730.
