Woman arrested for DUI after crashing deputy's cruiser

TAMPA -- A woman was arrested for drunken driving early this morning after she slammed her vehicle into the back of a marked Hillsborough County sheriff's deputy cruiser, authorities said.

Yvonna Szczeblewska, 26, of 353 Phlox Drive, Palm Harbor, remains at the Orient Road jail, where she refused to take a blood-alcohol breath test, deputies said.

Szczeblewska has been charged with DUI with property damage or personal injury. Her bond is set at $500.

Sheriff's Cpl. Tony Mannarino was uninjured from the impact. He was treated at St. Joseph's Hospital and released.

Mannarino was stopped at a westbound traffic light on Hillsborough Avenue near Webb Road in Town 'N Country around 3:40 a.m. when Szczeblewska rear ended him with a Volkswagen, pushing his Ford Crown Victoria about 93 feet into the intersection, deputies said.

Deputies said they detected and odor of alcohol on Szczeblewska's breath and that she had red, glassy eyes.
