Woman robs Wachovia bank in downtown St. Petersburg
ST. PETERSBURG -- A woman robbed the Wachovia Bank at 125 Fifth St. S this morning.
Police said she kept her hand under her shirt and implied that she had a weapon by threatening to kill employees if they didn't cooperate. She took cash from three tellers about 11:45 a.m. and stuffed it in a black cloth bag, said police spokesman George Kajtsa.
Police described the robber as a heavy-set black woman with an orange and black shirt with a white hood and shorts.
