Man dies in Dunedin motorcycle crash

A Wesley Chapel man on a speeding motorcycle crashed and died just after midnight Monday, the Florida Highway Patrol says.

The accident happened at the intersection of Omaha Street and Country Woods Lane in Dunedin, the FHP said.

William M. Schreiner, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a report, Schreiner was northbound and making a right turn on Omaha Street when he lost control of a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle.

The motorcycle veered into the southbound lanes of traffic before crashing into a curb and a utility pole, the FHP said.

Schreiner was traveling at high speed and was wearing a helmet, the report said. Alcohol has not been ruled out as a factor in the crash.
