Tampa police search for suspect in overnight shooting

TAMPA -- Tampa police are searching for someone who shot a man overnight, leaving him in extremely critical condition.

Just after midnight, Jean Etienne, 35, of 3625 N 18th St., was found bleeding and unresponsive by his girlfriend when she came home from work, police said. Etienne was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where doctors determined he had been shot.

Neighbors told police they saw a compact red car near Etienne's home about 11 p.m. Anyone with information about the shooting or vehicle should call the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130.
