Local protest of Israel's attacks in Gaza

TAMPA -- Between 300 and 500 protesters lined N Dale Mabry Highway just north of Interstate 275, protesting Israeli attacks on Palestinian territories. The crowds chanted "Stop the killing, stop the crime," and "Free, free Palestine" while many carried signs and waved Palestinian flags.

Contraband weapon found in Valrico library rape suspect's cell

TAMPA -- Kendrick Morris, the 17-year-old charged in the rape of another teenager at the Bloomingdale Regional Library and a 61-year-old woman at a day care, was found with a homemade knife in his jail cell, Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies said.

Judge: Tampa Bay Academy must close

A judge has denied Tampa Bay Academy's request to keep its youth mental health center open. Attorneys for the Riverview residential treatment center two weeks ago asked the 2nd District Court of Appeal to halt state officials' efforts to revoke its license.
