Hernando deputies: teacher caught in bed with student

SPRING HILL -- The mother of a 17-year-old Nature Coast High School student returned home today to find her daughter lying underneath a 42-year-old man in his underwear, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. Deputies say he is the Nature Coast band teacher, and that this is the second time he was with the teen but the first time he got caught.

Man robs Publix for Oxycontin, gets away

TAMPA -- Deputies are searching for a man who robbed a Publix Pharmacy for drugs around 8 p.m. tonight. The man walked into the Publix at 7835 Gunn Highway, implied he had a weapon and demanded Oxycontin, said Debbie Carter, a spokeswoman for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Tampa man accidentally released from jail

TAMPA -- A half-dozen sheriff's vehicles descended on W. North Street this afternoon after the Hillsborough County Jail accidentally released a man who lives on the short, dead-end block, neighbors say. The man is now back behind bars.

Surprise passenger jumps into man's truck on U.S. 19

HOLIDAY -- Raymond L. Bowen has been arrested several times in Pasco County, frequently using the alias "Alexis." On Tuesday evening, authorities say, Bowen -- as Alexis -- donned a long black wig and women's clothing and climbed into a white Ford pickup at a red light on U.S. 19.

LARGO -- A man jumped the pharmacy counter at Alberton's Supermarket on Ulmerton Road this morning, raided the store's supply of Hydrocodone, then fled. But here's where it gets interesting: Police say the suspect resembles actor Keanu Reeves.
