BROOKSVILLE -- The left lanes of southbound Interstate 75 and eastbound State Road 50 will remain closed today after a dump truck headed east on SR 50 crashed into the interstate overpass Tuesday afternoon.

A temporary barrier will block the interstate lane until the area is cleared and repaired, said Marian Scorza, spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Transportation. Repairs are under way. Eastbound SR 50 traffic under the overpass is being diverted to the westbound lanes, allowing travel in both directions, according to Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Steve Gaskins. Check live traffic conditions and find alternate routes at traffic.tampabay.com.

The roads should be back in business by Saturday, Scorza said.
