Homeless camp leads to 12 arrests

SEFFNER -- Twelve transients were arrested Wednesday night after an 80-year-old man found them living in small tents on his property.

The landowner went to his property at 8:45 p.m.  to clear some trees and found the group living there, said Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Vida Morgan. When they refused to leave, the man called the Sheriff's Office. It's not clear how long the people were living there.

Those arrested are Paul Waters, 45, Edward Bytheway, 45, Shannon Blumenthal, 27, Mary Blumenthal, 58, Martin Larkin, 44, Santiago Ramos, 39, Queen Lindsey, 57, Lloyd Bartelli, 42, Frances Reed, 42, Ramon Gonzalez, 36, James Armstrong, 45, and Willie Anderson, 48. All were taken to the Hillsborough County Jail.
