Auburndale woman traveling with children charged with DUI

TAMPA --  A 30-year-old woman was charged with two counts of child abuse after she was accused of driving drunk with children in the back seat.

Stormy Ann Smith's 2006 Black Chevrolet Trailblazer was spotted on Kennedy Boulevard at Armenia Avenue with the high beam headlights on, according to the arrest report.

A Tampa Police officer stopped Smith, of 632 Duncan Circle East in Auburndale, and noticed alcohol on her breath, bloodshot eyes and unsteady appearance, the affidavit  stated.

The records say she failed a field sobriety test and her blood alcohol content was .184 and .194. The state of Florida assumes impairment at .08.

Smith is charged with driving under the influence, two counts of child abuse and having no valid driver's license. She was released from Orient Road Jail Thursday when she posted $4,750 bail.
