Clearwater man killed in St. Petersburg car crash
Police have identified 33-year-old Trent Anton Evans of Clearwater as the man who died Sunday in a one-car accident at 34th Street near 50th Avenue N.
Evans was driving his 2004 Kia SUV northbound at 8:15 p.m. on 34th Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control and went off onto the shoulder, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The vehicle ran into some metal poles and a chain-link fence before overturning and crashing into two unoccupied parked cars.
Authorities say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident, which FHP is still investigating.

Was this 34th St and 50th Ave N, or 34th St and 50th Ave S? Two completely different locations. Times staffers should know this information would be important to include.

It was north. I saw the lights of cops/ambulance from 58th ave and wondered what was going on.

I passed the accident just right after the Sherrif's deputies had pulled up. Looks like he hit the curb going pretty fast. When he hit the (aproximately) 4in wide metal poles just off the sidewalk he flipped his SUV smashing into the top of one parked SUV before landing next to it. Luckily no one else was involved.
Thinning the herd one person at a time.

Deron what does "thinning the herd one person at a time" mean exactly. You couldn't be more insensitive. For your information Trent the victim was a close friend of my sister. Thank GOD nobody else was injuried or killed. But, we ALL have made some decisions that weren't always wise or recommended, thankfully it was not fatal. You should be careful what you say because you never know who's reading it. We've all come short of the goodness and glory of GOD, remember your not PERFECT either.

Oh! By the way the insensitive part was meant for Dale. That was a rude and cruel comment!
